Hello friends!
I come to you from a month-ish break from writing this newsletter which started when I had four big writing assignments due the day before flying to Idaho to spend 10 days with my family. The deadlines broke my brain and the time offline subsequently healed it in a month-long whiplash.
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
I wrote about closet sales for Elle. Interviewing some of NYC’s most fashionable and thoughtful including
, , , , , and more, was the greatest treat!I’m so excited for the stories I reported to come out. One brought me to Madrid which was such a delight. It was a joy to see G’s family and then go to Idaho and see mine the week after!!
I also had the chance to help out on a photo shoot at the Hauser & Wirth-owned Fife Arms in the Scottish Highlands and just LOOK at these images!!!!
I removed the paywall from my two most recent essays! In the essay, Devotion is a Choice, I write my reflections on the first five months of being married and how I apply them across my life. In many ways, devotion is the best form of discipline.
In this second essay, I write about how finding purpose in the Girlboss movement helped me shift priorities. Instead of hoping to be pretty, I wanted to be powerful.
Wanted to take a minute to celebrate some of my lovely creative friends in Edinburgh. My dear friend Chloe Frost-Smith wrote this fabulous Guest Book entry Phāea Blue Palace in Crete for Yolo Journal.
And another dear friend Farah illustrated the menus for the Surf Lodge’s restaurant concept Casa Serena!!!
When I went to the Faroe Islands, I was gifted a sweater from Gudrun & Gudrun, and I have to stop myself from wearing it every day. It is truly a perfect sweater.
My friends at ætla, a lovely fine jewelry store in Stockbridge, fixed my wedding earrings for me!!!! The pic is me wearing the aforementioned sweater with the Carolina Herrera weding earrings.
In other neighborhood updates, a buzzy new Italian spot is opening called Sotto whose founder cut his teeth at Edinburgh-beloved The Palmerston (where Darcie from Lannan also started!) and if their interiors (which I’ve been spying on through the window) speak for them, it’s going to be good.
Anyways that’s all for now!!! How are you all doing?!?! I’d love to hear from you.
All my love,
Sarah
All well here. Behind on SubStack but slowly catching up. A very frosty minus 7 here this morning but spring is definitely coming. Hugs from afar.
