As my first-ever Royal Circus release, this pillow means so much to me.

If you've been along for the ride, you might know that moving to Scotland was not in my 5-year plan (nor my 50-year plan for that matter). Last March, G and I moved into a darling Georgian townhouse on the street called Royal Circus in Edinburgh.

It was a tough transition. I missed the Barcelona sunshine and my community. After a few months fighting the gray, I found the light again, decorating the flat with a mix of classical and maximalist thrifted pieces found in charity shops and making friends by hosting dinner parties.

It was as I got ready for one of these dinner parties that the idea for Royal Circus emerged. I started to imagine what my dream tablescape might look like. If I had a blank piece of paper, what would I fill it with?

I love bright colors, bold patterns, and unexpected shapes. I wanted to bring together the Barcelona art nouveau/surrealism/maximalism that I loved so much with the classic/preppy/quirky UK interiors style I had come to delight in.
