Apologies that this newsletter came out later than it should have, but it is CHOCK FULL of fun things so I hope you forgive its tardiness!
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
For Elle, I wrote about non traditional engagement rings. This story was born from my personal experience of wanting one gold band as both my engagement and wedding ring—for practical reasons, because I want to be able to wear my ring through every activity in my life—and for personal reasons, because I didn’t want to participate in the game of carats and feel like I needed to get some certain size of ring to fit in. I wanted my ring to symbolize one thing, and that’s my marriage to Gustavo.
I hosted an interiors moodboarding workshop with Ailsa Macconnell at Catalog Interiors on Monday and it was so lovely. Her recommendations for when you start decorating a space:
Pick two words that encompass how you want the space to feel
Choose three reference images that embody how you want it look. They don’t have to be interiors photos! Can be art, photography, images that inspire you.
From those images, make your color story (the 2-3 colors that will be main/accent colors)
On June 26, we’re hosting an interiors summer party at Catalog from 6:30-8:30pm !! Will just be a casual happy hour and opportunity to meet other people interested in interiors, RSVP here!
ALSO!!! I’m starting a one-time book club to read Plum Sykes new book Wives Like Us. It will be joint UK and US (which reflects the book!) so will be likely a 1pm ET / 6pm UK on a Sunday to get everyone on the same time zone. Looking at dates in late July. Plum will join the Zoom call and we can ask her all our questions about life in the Hamptons of the UK (the Cotswolds) and as an editor at British and American Vogue. Let me know if you want to join!!
In our new apartment, we discovered a stunning tile fireplace hearth beneath a slate slab - and got the cement off without damaging the tiles!!!
We’re getting our first room plastered tomorrow, WOOO!!!
I went to Taylor Swift on my own on Friday. Thank you so much to all the beautifully kind people at the concert who were nice to me. I’m writing about this for The Times UK so look out for that next week!
On Saturday I went to a lunch at Elliott’s and it was so fabulous!!! Can’t wait to come to another event.
Made my return to tennis last night!!!
I’m currently reading Anna by Amy Odell, the biography about Anna Wintour, which G got me for my birthday. Enjoying it so much!!!
All my love,
Sarah
