wins of the week #114
festival of fashion, flabelus, marfa stance, holiday decorations in edinburgh
Hi everyone, I sincerely apologize for the break in this newsletter. I was in the U.S. for three weeks juggling writing deadlines and catching up with loved ones and then getting back last week was a bit of a tough one.
I’m excited to be in one place for the rest of the year and feel a bit more settled—with our apartment reno finally looking to be concluded by year-end.
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
Back in Edinburgh from a whirlwind three weeks in New York and Michigan which ended with G crushing it in the NYC marathon with his first marathon coming in at 3:29:40… I am still BEAMING!!!!
In New York, I caught up with so many beautiful people and visited so many stunning spaces. A new place I loved was Gem House, a homewares store, grocery, and cafe by Flynn McGarry. It’s such a beautiful space that feels like a fusion of Copenhagen and California in the LES.
I wanted to share this resource put together by a collective of creatives in the US of photographers, vendors, and venues who will help LGBTQ+ couples elope before inauguration. Many thanks to Ruby Olivia for sharing on Instagram!
Back in Edinburgh, I moderated the most lovely conversation between Georgia Dant, founder of Marfa Stance, and Leeanne Hundleby, founder of Strathberry last Thursday.
This Thursday, the beloved Spanish shoe brand Flabelus is popping up at treen for a lovely event where you get to hear directly from their founder. I’m so excited to get my hands on a pair of those gorgeous velvet shoes!!! RSVP here.
G and I went up to Boath House in the Scottish Highlands for an autumnal weekend getaway and it was so restful and peaceful.
My friend Chloe was the Editor-in-Chief for the gorgeous print magazine Swoon by SLH. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!!!
The holidays have landed in Edinburgh!!!!! I’m so excited for the Christmas market to open, have been relishing in the lights at The Dome, and am elated that my co-working space, Gleneagles Townhouse, has gotten these stunning decorations up yesterday.
The Fife Arms launched sweaters in collaboration with designer Jane Carr ahead of the Festival of Fashion and I helped at the shoot which was so fun! If you’re heading up to Braemar this weekend for the Festival of Fashion, give me a shout!
Our apartment is about to be renovated!!!! Finalizing the last design choices for kitchen and bathroom and then our general contractor is going to take it away!!! After living in essentially a construction site site for 6 months, I am so excited for this to be done!!!!
Sending huge hugs!
With gratitude,
Sarah
I absolutely adore Boath House. Such a special place— and love these pictures ✨
