I live on the Isle of Arran and it's one of the most amazing places on earth for hiking. The ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick is a 50-minute crossing. The train from Glasgow to Ardrossan is 45 mins. I'd be more than happy to share my knowledge if you fancied a visit. Always happy to meet a fellow traveller!

Highly recommend a Lake District jaunt if you haven’t been! If you park yourself in Grasmere or Windermere, you can use the buses to get you to/from your hotel to the trailheads. One of my favorite weekend trips when I spent a fall in London
