Hi friends,
Week 55 of wins! Last week I turned 27, did an epic hike, and made pasta al limone (again). Let’s jump in!
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
1️⃣ Calling all Birthday Monsters: If you cry on your birthday, this newsletter is for you! I wrote about my unfortunate tendency to make my birthday a nightmare and how I’m working to stop doing that.
2️⃣ How to Stop Doubting Your Creative Calling: I’m back on a podcast kick. I really enjoyed this Gabby Bernstein podcast about how to stop doubting your creative calling.
3️⃣ Vintage Wedding Dresses in NYC: Happy Isles is opening in NYC in September and I’m dreaminnngggg of going to their showroom to play dress-up.
4️⃣ A Feast for the Books: Has there ever been a more perfect event? An amazing line-up of chefs including @FromLucie are participating in this event to support Housing Works’ mission to end AIDS and homelessness on June 15th. Link for details here.
5️⃣ Is My Writing a Hobby Or a Career? Enjoyed this Esquire article by Rainesford Stauffer. This line especially resonated: If writing was happening in what some might call margins of my life, did that inherently make it a hobby—or was it actually what knit my life together?
6️⃣ Edinburgh Half Marathon: G and I both sent PRs in the Edinburgh Half Marathon last weekend, 1:54 for me and 1:32 for him!
7️⃣ Developing Film: Just got my first rolls of film back that I took on my new analog camera (thank you everyone for their recommendations on camera!!)
8️⃣ Dinner for Creatives in Edinburgh: I filled my dinner party for women writers on July 5th, but I’ll be hosting another dinner for creative women in Edinburgh at the end of July. Link coming soon but reply if you’re interested!
9️⃣ Interior Vision Boards: I’ve been playing on Spoak and pinning like crazy on Pinterest, which you can follow here. Lots of Carolina Irving, I must say.
1️⃣ 0️⃣ Homemade Paella: G made incredible paella yesterday!!! I’ve been dreaming about having a paella pan and we broke it in yesterday afternoon.
All my love,
Sarah

So many positive moments here. And congratulations on that half marathon!! A terrific job. I’m so glad that life is so fulfilling. (And writing is definitely a form of glue. For you, it’s like my art is for me - a time in the day when I get to sit and really BE. Enjoy!!)
