Hey hey hey!
This newsletter was written in the backseat of a van as my dad drives our family from San José to Tamarindo in Costa Rica. I’m riding the high of deep conversations with soul friends and spending quality time with family. There is nothing better than feeling connected to your life.
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
1️⃣ The Best Sobriety Book I’ve Read Lately: I read
‘s latest book, Push Off From Here. I planned to give it to someone I love and needed to read it before. Having taken a long sabbatical from reading from quit-lit, I was delighted by her wisdom, vulnerability, and voice. I had to sit on my hands to resist the urge to underline. Would definitely recommend!2️⃣ It Doesn’t Have to Make Sense: Mari Andrew wrote about speaking on David’s
podcast. It was a true meeting of the minds. What I would have given to be in this room!3️⃣ Get Paid to Host Parties: Eric Rubin is looking for super event planners to give feedback on his latest project, Pie. TLDR, you get paid to host your own social events!!! Deets here.
4️⃣ Michigan & London Plot Points: Lindsay MacMillan wrote a brilliant book called Double-Decker Dreams and the Michigan/London references were spot on. It had me in tears!!
5️⃣ How Not to Lose Your Mind: Spent the most wonderful week in NYC, and followed G’s advice to not overplan. To my delight, horror, surprise, it turns out that not overcommitting makes your life a lot better. Who knew?!??
6️⃣ Back to My Roots, Literally: The brilliant Mala fixed my half haircut (she’s the only person I trusted with the mess) and brought my hair back to its natural color.
7️⃣ The Best Yoga Studio in Michigan: After New York, I spent a week in my hometown in Michigan. Being back taking class at The Space was divine.
8️⃣ This Quote Resonated With Me: “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
9️⃣ Want to Play Polo in Edinburgh? I’m putting together a small group to play polo in Edinburgh on June 27th at 6:30pm. It’s 60p per person! Send me an email if that strikes your fancy!
🔟 Celebrating My Dad’s 60th Birthday. My family is in Costa Rica to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday! He was born here and I’m excited to see where he grew up. We went through old pictures—this one from his baptism. My grandma is my forever style icon.
All my love!
Sarah
