Hello party people!
This email is coming on Monday, even though it’s a weekend newsletter, because United airlines wrecked havoc on my peaceful redeye (an oxymoron) (see #7 and #9 of the list for more detail.)
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
1️⃣ My Article in Arch Digest: I wrote an article for Architectural Digest where I interviewed 6 couples about combining their interior design styles when they moved in together. One of my favorite pieces I’ve ever worked on! Link is here.
2️⃣ Funding for Small Businesses: Eater wrote a glowing deep-dive about NuMarket, my friend Ross’s company that helps restaurants and small business raise money without giving up equity.
3️⃣ How Much Does the Viral Townhouse Cost: This NYT article about Athena Calderone is fascinating. After seeing her townhouse everywhere, I’ve been curious about how much that costs. Now we know… $4M & $2.5M in renovations.
4️⃣ Best Anywhere Workout: With 40 minutes before dinner in an Airbnb in Costa Rica, I did a SOTO Method workout and it’s confirmed that this is the best workout you can do anywhere.
5️⃣ Come to Dinner in Edinburgh!! Still have seats open for a July 26th dinner party in Edinburgh! Send to any friends you know in London/ Edinburgh. Link is here.
6️⃣ Turns Out Everyone was Right: Switched from coffee to matcha over the last month and can confirm it does in fact make me less anxious (but more sleepy).
7️⃣ There’s No Way to Look Cool Running for a Flight: Not to bore you with a flight story, but G and I got stuck at Newark on the tarmac for 4 hours with a 4.5 hour layover, so once we got off we SPRINTED through the airport with all of our bags (I was unfortunately wearing a wool sweater and sweatpants) and made our flight as they closed the gates. I will ride this adrenaline high for the rest of the week.
8️⃣ Back in the Saddle: Literally. I’m playing polo again tomorrow. I’m also working on an essay about the danger of making a place your personality (whoops!)
9️⃣ Flight-Related Shower Thought: Twitter is now just a place to tweet angry things at airlines until you get a flight voucher.
🔟 The Only Newsletter I Read Immediately:
and Harry’s newsletter is a cultural artifact. Their writing is so smart and witty I get jealous that my internal dialogue doesn’t sound like this. That’s all folks!
