Hello friends!!!!! This January is off to a BANG! I started feeling better last week which meant I finally got to attack some admin projects like update my website, clean the house, and think about wedding planning.
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
I spent an hour cleaning out my closet yesterday and made a stack of clothes to sell on Vinted. I cannot believe what a positive impact on my mental state it had. The only issue is that I keep pulling clothes out of the pile to wear… so at least they’re getting a second-chance.
On Friday I hosted a Mob Wives-themed dinner party which was a great reason to find a $10 faux fur vest at a charity shop that I will absolutely be wearing to my co-working space this week.
My friend Danielle recommended the budgeting app, CoPilot, and I have to tell you that it is extremely helpful. I am now reviewing what I spend everyday and that is quite elucidating. Here is a code if you want to check it out!
I read The Last Summer: Of You and Me by Ann Brashares in one sitting because I’m pretending it is summer.
Ordered a paper issue of the Monocle’s The Escapist because there is a Scotland section and I can’t wait to see those recommendations!!!
For & The Table, I was interviewed about hosting and dinner parties— you can read it here!
Just reserved an apartment in NYC for 5 people for 8 days that costs $300 for the entire trip…. I’m sorry to keep talking about it but the home-swapping app Kindred is literally life-changing.
I’m trying to decide between seeing Poor Things or Priscilla for G and my Monday movie night tomorrow. Please opine!
I’m going to learn how to drive on the left side of the road solely to go visit this manor house that looks like Saltburn in Scotland.
Looking for great places in NYC to have group dinners that are reasonably priced!!!
All my love
Sarah
Poor things is great! Such a bizarre yet intriguing one
I spent two months last winter in NYC, working in person while evacuated to a hotel room due to mudslides from my house in the Santa Cruz mountains in California. When I craved space to host conversations that could linger on and create personal connection, Leitao, a Portuguese spot on the Western side of the Village was my favorite find apart from visiting friends' homes with bags of groceries to cook from.
