wins of the week #97
wedding announcement in the NYT!!! maggie rogers! best brunch in edinburgh!
Hello friends!! I was meaning to send this out yesterday, or earlier today, but then the days got away from me as it has been SUNNY in Edinburgh and we’ve been spending as much time as possible outside.
I’m loving having a chilled weekend with no plans, the second in a row like this. I did some spring cleaning today and tomorrow I’m planning to go through all my clothes and list what I’m not wearing on Vinted.
10 Things I’m Celebrating This Week:
Our wedding announcement is out in the NYT!!!! It comes out in print tomorrow too!!!!
MAGGIE ROGERS NEW ALBUM !!!!!!! My favorite song is “If Now Was Then”
Also her profile in the New Yorker is a must-read!
This week was extremely social !!! On Thursday, I ventured to Glasgow for a pop-up dinner with Soho House. After drinks in a speakeasy, we were led into the famed Glasgow market, The Barras, for a dinner cooked in front of us by Scottish Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin. The design elements were nods to the weird and wonderful world of The Barras, with floral-set jelly centerpieces reminiscent of old canteen dining and red and white stripes everywhere.

The dinner was absolutely lovely—but the best part was that Gustavo knew I was having an off-day and decided to take the train to Glasgow after work to wait for me at a restaurant while I was at dinner so I wouldn’t have to go home on the train by myself.
Yesterday I went to a lovely workshop with Rosie Steer at TOAST for a spring floral arrangement class.
Today Gustavo and I went for a run (where we got every type of weather in 30 minutes), got hot chocolates at Upland Roast, and then went to Argyle Place for the best lunch. It is my new favorite restaurant in Edi.
My friend Cornelia wrote this lovely piece for The Cut exploring if you should exercise when you’re pregnant.
I hit 1,500 subscribers on this newsletter!!!
Yesterday I asked on my Instagram story if anyone in Edinburgh had a black tie dress I could borrow and literally twenty people responded with options—I know social media is bad for many reasons, but there are such beautiful moments of real connection. I went and picked up three dresses from a super kind girl today who is letting me borrow hers. How beautiful this little world can be!
With love,
Sarah
