So interesting to hear about the week in your writing and photos. I do have FOMO about not being in Italy - yet. Lovely work Sarah! Dreams do come true from time to time! ❤️

Interesting take! I write about design fairs and festivals pretty exclusively and for my next newsletter I’m writing about how first timers felt about MDW. I’d love to talk to you more if you’re interested.

What’s unfortunate about this edition, however, and a bit behind the curtain is how much the fashion industry has taken over - sort of giving some design people feeling like we are losing our one thing. Design week has become a better marketing opportunity for fashion than Fashion week. Also, influencers more than ever and press from other industries are getting flown out/ put up during a time where it’s famously extremely difficult for design journalists to find accommodations, either as a trade-out or out of pocket. After 6 years I stopped going due to the expenses, and instead go to fairs where I’m invited or where there is better ROI (Copenhagen which is blowing up, and Antwerp which is next for me). Anyways that’s all from me lol

Happy to chat more!! Some of my friends who have gone to the fair for 20+ years echoed a similar sentiment. I am also hoping to come to CPH and Antwerp sounds lovely!!
