this resonates soooo much. moving cross-countries is definitely a great forcing function [to be more intentional with the objects you wanna keep and cherish in your life]. wonderful read, thanks for sharing.
Perfect. Congratulations. So much wisdom in someone so young. I’ll make sure I refer to this regularly as I continue to downsize. Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes dear Sarah. 🤗🤗💕
I loved this! I loved the journeys you went on and the perspective you gained especially as someone seriously dating a man who lives in another city (and country!)
Oooohh, I like this!! So many interesting things to think about. This is right up my alley, and I'll definitely be quoting parts in future posts of mine!!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic. Really appreciate your insights on this. Great stuff. Lots of wisdom here. We love you so much and love the world you have created. ❤️❤️
I relate to this 👌🏻 When I moved from Madrid to Edinburgh in 2020 with no return ticket I left all my clothes behind (literally I packed a pair of jeans, a shirt and a jumper lol). I mastered minimalism (liberating!) and got rid of everything else but decided to keep my clothes in Madrid and send them over later. When I finally managed to bring them all with me in two massive suitcases after a Christmas visit two years ago, I realised these weren’t my clothes anymore. I donated all but 2-3 pieces. I had become a different woman here. 🧡
I remember our move to Paris, selling our house and downsizing but still filling up a 10×10 storage unit in the US. On our 5th anniversary in Paris we completely cleaned out our storage unit only possessing the things we had purchased in our Parisian apartment- it was bittersweet but I felt loads lighter literally and figuratively and the things I now own felt aligned with my life in France. It was an evolution of sorts!
